About Dwight
I’ve been a dedicated music teacher and professional musician since my early 20s, with over 20 years of experience. I’ve taught at the National Conservatory of Music in Peru, performed professionally on cruise ships, and now serve as the band teacher at Cary Christian School. I typically work with around 17 private music students, but during this time of year, I’m looking to fill some gaps in my schedule. I’m passionate about working hard for my students and helping them achieve their full potential—but I expect the same dedication in return. I’m transitioning to focus on students who are ready to put in the work. If you’re serious about your craft, willing to practice consistently (5-6 days a week), and ready to be challenged, I’d love to help you grow. My teaching is built on pushing students beyond what they think they can do while offering support, encouragement, and clear goals every step of the way.

Using positive reinforcement and plenty of encouragement, I help students set and achieve measurable goals. While there’s no one-size-fits-all plan, every lesson ends with clear, actionable practice steps for the week ahead. What sets me apart is my commitment to pushing students beyond their perceived limits while instilling belief in their potential. Whether you’re a beginner aged 9 or an adult picking up an instrument for the first time, all you need is a willingness to learn and practice.
