About Chloe

I busk regularly on the streets of Barcelona while building teaching alongside it, and honestly the two feed each other more than I expected when I first started out. Four years into teaching now, I've worked with about fifty-five students, mostly people who want something a bit more real and current than formal, overly polished singing lessons offer. I didn't go to music school, I learned mostly by doing, plenty of mistakes made in public on busy street corners along the way, and I bring that same scrappy energy into teaching. I connect particularly well with students who feel intimidated by more traditional, formal teachers, since I'm genuinely still figuring plenty out myself and I think that honesty puts people at ease quickly. My teaching style is relaxed, current, and a bit unpolished compared to more established studios, but it's built on real, ongoing street performing experience rather than theory alone. I care a lot about students actually singing somewhere real eventually, even somewhere small and low-key, rather than just improving quietly and privately forever. Watching a student work up the nerve to sing in public for the first time is honestly one of my favorite parts of this whole gig. I'm not the finished article myself, and that's exactly why this works.

About the lesson

I busk regularly on the streets of Barcelona, so my lessons come from someone genuinely living the same real-world hustle a lot of my students are curious about themselves. We start with basic breath and pitch work, honestly nothing overly technical at first, because busking taught me that playable fundamentals matter more than polish for real, live singing. I teach a lot of what I've picked up busking, handling a crowd, recovering smoothly from a cracked note in front of strangers, and staying confident while people are actually watching and listening. Repertoire is student-led almost entirely, whatever song someone's genuinely excited about singing, since busking taught me forced repertoire kills motivation and audience connection alike. I record lessons on my phone sometimes so students can hear themselves honestly, the same way I make myself listen back to my own rough street recordings, cringing included. I'm upfront when something's outside my own direct experience, and I'd rather admit that clearly than pretend otherwise to sound more impressive than I actually am. Feedback stays direct but genuinely encouraging, since I remember exactly how discouraging harsh critique felt as a beginner busker myself starting out nervously. We talk openly about real goals, whether simple enjoyment or eventually busking or performing somewhere. This isn't polished textbook teaching, and that honesty genuinely helps.
