About Dilan
I’m a London-based Acoustical Engineer and lifelong bass guitarist. I began playing at a young age and was fortunate to have many opportunities growing up, performing in several bands across different styles. For several years I played in both a Big Band and a Jazz Band, with gigs at venues such as Ronnie Scott’s and Jazz After Dark in Soho. I’ve also played in rock, funk, soul and R&B groups, giving me a broad musical foundation.
I hold a Grade 8 Bass Guitar qualification (Rockschool) and bring a clear, supportive approach to teaching beginners and improvers.
Alongside music, I’m trained in the Feldenkrais Method — a form of somatic movement education that cultivates bodily awareness and ease. This informs my teaching style: I help students play with comfort, confidence and relaxed technique, so learning feels enjoyable rather than tense or overwhelming.

Learning bass should feel enjoyable, clear, and grounded.
I teach with a calm, supportive approach that helps students develop confidence, musical understanding, and a real connection with the instrument.
My lessons combine technique, rhythm, theory, and repertoire in a way that feels structured but never overwhelming.
What you’ll learn:
-> Rhythmic feel — We’ll explore the rhythmic foundations of songs through exercises, groove work, and learning music you enjoy.
-> Theory made simple — Keys, scales, arpeggios, patterns, and how they connect to real playing.
-> Ease and familiarity with the instrument — Comfortable technique, relaxed movement, and confidence across the fretboard.
-> Repertoire — Rock, Funk, Soul, R&B and other styles depending on your interests.
Lessons are suitable for complete beginners, adult learners, and improvers wanting clarity, structure, and a friendly teacher.
