About Matthew
I come from a diverse academic background as well as diverse teaching experience.
I am well versed in theory and arranging. This allows me to be creative to rework the curriculum in the moment in order for advanced concepts to be understood.
By using movement, ear-training and thoughtful games I am able to engage the student.
I also have many years of touring and performing experience.

I tailor my lessons to the need or the student. Oftentimes, especially with younger pupils, each lesson needs to fit how the student is feeling that day.
For example, if the student didn't practice for that week, rather than expressing disappointment, I lead them through practicing methods that are actually fun.This way the lesson time isn't lost and neither is the student's confidence.
