I am a deeply dedicated, empathetic, and organised educator with a profound love for literature, creative writing, and poetry. My background combines high academic achievement (including a GCSE grade 8 in English Literature) with high-tier placements at Penguin Classics and the BBC. As a Prefect, House Captain, and Primary School Teaching Assistant, I specialise in mentoring younger students by creating a calm, encouraging, and supportive learning environment. I am highly attuned to the individual emotional and academic needs of my students. I understand that learning can sometimes feel overwhelming, which is why my approach focuses on building confidence at a patient, structured pace. By drawing on creative storytelling, mindfulness, and reflective writing, I aim to help students discover their unique voice, conquer academic anxiety, and find joy in the world of reading.

About the lesson

I provide highly structured, engaging, and personalised lessons tailored entirely to each student's unique academic goals. My tutoring framework is split into three core areas designed to foster both academic excellence and a genuine love for English: Creative Writing & Prose: Using my background as a writer and BBC Young Writers participant, I guide students through plot structure, vocabulary expansion, and character development, helping them build confidence in their own unique voice. Poetry & Literary Analysis: We break down classic and contemporary poetry together, focusing on themes, literary devices, and analytical critical thinking. Guided Reading & Comprehension: Drawing from my vast reading repertoire—from classic novels to historical texts—I help students improve their reading stamina, pronunciation, and deep comprehension skills. Having served as a primary school teaching assistant and a peer tutor, I excel at breaking down complex concepts into simple, digestible steps. Every lesson is meticulously planned with clear goals, actionable feedback, and supportive encouragement to ensure consistent progress without academic burnout.
