About Maria
I am a full-time artist; a painter.
I have exhibited in London and abroad.
My paintings are collected worldwide.
I am inspired by nature, particularly the sea. I love painting landscapes and creating emotionally driven artworks.
I have taught art for 20 years.
I use materials from the days of the Renaissance and Impressionism (Oils, Gouache, Watercolours, Pastels, Sanguine, Charcoal);
My teaching is personal, humanistic and fun. I focus on developing techniques and skills while respecting each student's level and individuality, guiding them intuitively towards their next steps.
I feel truly inspired by the great masters, namely Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Turner, Whistler and Monet. I share my discoveries related to art, different materials and techniques.

I have taught art for over 20 years. My students have ranged from young children to senior adults. The lesson usually starts by selecting a photograph of a landscape, cityscape or seascape, from which we will start our first painting. We will approach the lesson in the same way in all levels. We will study the light and the gradients of light, shadows and mid tones. We will learn about form, and colour. We will use oil paints, brushes, but also a piece of cloth or even paper to remove paint from the canvas to work with transparency.
It's all about painting the essence of what they see or feel.
My purpose it is to facilitate the interpretation of nature and landscape by each student keeping their own personal mark.
The style of teaching is gentle, supportive and fun. The joy and pride of each student through the creation of art forms is my great satisfaction.
