About Jonathan

I am a professional full-time private guitar teacher and have been teaching privately since 2005. As well as teaching 60 students a week I have run my own music school which offered group classes, band classes, songwriting and music production. I have taught students of all levels and abilities and from all different backgrounds and have learnt a lot about what and what not to do to help students play they want to. In my experience teaching students must be able to understand four key concepts; 1. How to Play - how to physically play the guitar, the techniques involved and how to make the correct sounds with it 2. How to Understand - How to make the connection between the sounds you make and the music theory so that you can use them both to help you make better music 3. How to Practise - How to make the most of your time between lessons 4. How to Learn - How to learn what you need when you need it, therefore eliminating the need for lessons completely!

About the lesson

My lessons focus on the four cornerstones of learning; how to play, how to practice, how to understand and how to learn, all done whilst having the most fun in the lessons as possible! If I can help you to enjoy your development and progress in these key areas then you will become a self sufficient and happy musician.
