About Monique
Hi, I’m Monique. I’m BSL Level 1 qualified and currently continuing my own British Sign Language learning journey.
I first became interested in BSL after seeing first-hand how communication barriers can affect Deaf people and how important accessible communication is.
I’m patient, friendly and enjoy helping complete beginners feel comfortable when learning BSL. I understand that learning a new language can sometimes feel overwhelming, so I aim to create a relaxed environment where students can learn at their own pace, ask questions and build their confidence.
I’m passionate about continuing to develop my own BSL skills while helping others begin their BSL journey too.

Hi, I’m Monique and I’m BSL Level 1 qualified.
I offer friendly, relaxed and interactive BSL lessons for complete beginners and those who would like to build their confidence before or alongside a formal BSL Level 1 course.
My lessons are practical and focused on learning through participation and practice. We can cover everyday BSL vocabulary, fingerspelling, numbers, greetings, introductions and simple conversations, with plenty of opportunities to practise together.
I understand that everyone learns differently, so I adapt the pace of my lessons to suit each learner. My aim is to make learning BSL enjoyable, supportive and easy to follow.
Lessons are typically 1 hour and are suitable for adults and young people who are new to BSL or already have some basic knowledge.
Whether you're learning for work, family, personal interest or preparing for a Level 1 course, I can help you develop your vocabulary and confidence step by step.
