About Cathy
Years spent performing on stage and in the studio eventually led me to realise that teaching is where I find the most purpose. I must admit that I still get nervous before a big performance, even after 8 years of navigating the professional music world. My focus remains on helping beginners get comfortable with reading tabs, mastering rhythm guitar, and finally hitting those tricky barre chords without frustration.
I love watching a student transition from struggling with chord transitions to playing through scales and modes with confidence. Whether we are digging into improvisation and soloing or exploring power chords and ear training, I keep things grounded in actual music. When I am not teaching, I am usually just tinkering with my own gear or finding new ways to make complex concepts feel simple.

Because I hold an MMus in Guitar Performance from the Royal College of Music, I emphasise technique that actually serves your musical goals rather than just abstract theory. Newcomers can book a free trial session to assess their starting level so we know exactly where to begin our work together.
We will explore those 6.0 foundational pillars of guitar playing that often get overlooked in generic tutorials. By prioritising tactile feedback, I ensure that you understand the mechanics behind every note you play. It feels quite rewarding to see a student finally lock in a rhythm that used to feel impossible just 1 session ago.
