About Song

I am a dedicated clarinetist with a passion for music and helping others develop their musical skills. I offer beginner-friendly music theory lessons for students working towards Grades 1-3, focusing on building a strong foundation in musical notation, rhythm, scales, key signatures, and other essential concepts.
My teaching approach is patient, encouraging, and structured. I aim to make music theory easier to understand through clear explanations, practical examples, and guided exercises tailored to each student's learning pace. Whether you are just starting your musical journey or preparing for music theory examinations, I hope to help you build confidence, strengthen your understanding, and enjoy learning music.
My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and improving at their own pace.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on making concepts easy to understand through clear explanations, examples and practice questions. I will adapt my teaching pace to each student's needs and encourage them to ask questions whenever they are unsure.
A typical lesson will last 45-60 minutes, covering a specific topic, practising questions together and reviewing what the student has learnt. I aim to help students build a strong foundation and gain confidence in applying their knowledge.
As a band member who plays the clarinet in school and professionally, I have experience learning and applying musical concepts through practical music making. While I am a beginner tutor, I am committed to preparing lessons carefully and helping students learn at a comfortable pace.
My lessons are suitable for beginners and students preparing for ABRSM Music Theory Grades 1–3, particularly younger learners to high schoolers who would benefit from patient guidance, step by step explanations and additional practice.

I hope to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and improving their musical understanding!
