About Talia

Hello! I'm Talia. I have a degree in applied math and physics. I also worked as a college-level tutor for 2 years during which I helped students with calculus, mechanics, thermodynamics, optics, and waves and energy. This past academic year, I taught first year physics course as a graduate student instructor. Some anonymous feedback I've received from my students: "SO AMAZING. She was definitely knowledgeable of the topics and went out of her way to explain them in depth. She empathized when questions were challenging how to approach harder questions. About the lesson

I am invested in the success of my students and I value an intuitive understanding over surface-level "plug and chug". I prefer teaching with the Socratic method -- asking lots of questions! This is a very engaging way of learning and defending an assumption is a great way to build deeper understanding. I am here to help high school and lower division college students with: Math -algebra -pre-calc -calc 1, 2, multivariable, and ODEs -linear algebra -intro to proof writing Physics: -mechanics -thermo -optics -electricity and magnetism Some programming: -python -java
