About Merle
Teaching provides the most rewarding way to share the lessons I gathered during 13 years on stage. You deserve a coach who understands the nuance of sustainable BELTING TECHNIQUE and proper vocal health and care. Since earning my BFA Musical Theatre degree from the University of Oklahoma, I have spent 11 years refining how I explain complex concepts like rhythm and phrasing or vibrato control.
My specialized training as a Somatic Voicework specialist ensures you develop performance confidence without damaging your instrument. It is truly wonderful watching students find their unique voice while mastering head and chest voice, breathing control, and microphone technique. Helping you prepare for exams while keeping your voice fresh remains the highlight of my week.

We focus on specific mechanics like exam preparation and stamina to keep your instrument safe. I assign homework vocal drills after every session to solidify your progress between our meetings.
This 6.0 intensity approach prevents the dreaded shredding that happens when singers push too hard. You will gain clarity on why your breath support works or fails during difficult passages.
