About Anya

I was born in Moldova and was raised in a Russian speaking family. When I was 8 years old, I found myself spending hours every day religiously studying the vocabulary in Peppa Pig, as I had to learn English to prepare for moving to the UK. I became bilingual within a year after the move.
Since I learned both English and Russian as a child and not as an adult, I speak both languages without an accent, like a native speaker.

About the lesson

I teach beginner Russian and English.

I try and keep the lesson light-hearted so that the student enjoys learning a subject more.

I teach using a textbook, interesting news articles that are simplified to the beginner level and through books designed for language learners. I find using a variety of materials helps students be more interested in the subject.

I typically teach one hour sessions, once or twice a week, but I am flexible and would be happy doing longer or more frequent lessons. If the lesson lasts more than an hour then I will give the student a small break in the middle.
