About Lauren

I have 7 years of experience teaching high school Spanish, where I was nominated for Teacher of the Year. In addition, during graduate studies, I taught undergraduate courses for 4 years at R1 universities. While completing my undergraduate degree, I conducted private lessons to professional adults.

My experience living and researching abroad (Santiago de Chile and Spain) in addition to my personal travels make me a strong communicator aware of regional diversity. My interest in the language, literature, and culture prompted me to complete graduate studies and the University of Kansas and the University of Michigan.

About the lesson

My teaching is based on a communicative approach. In this way, I seek to maximize student contact time in a low-stress, supportive environment in which they practice using the language. The aim is to provide meaningful ways for students to engage with the material through real-world scenarios and interests.
