About Maria
I am a Biological Engineer holding a Master's from the most important Engineering University in Portugal, having been te recipient for a prize in Academic Merit. This means that I went through the various stages of school knowing how to study for academic success.
I have tutored high school students both in the Spanish and the British systems.
In addition to the required subjects, I like to teach how to think. That makes the student independent and more confident when only studying or in their evaluation situations.
With students with more challenge in a subject, I can share how to organize for the goals and how to have a study method. Nothing is done without work, but motivation and guidelines are also important.
For those who feel challenged in concentration or anxiety, I am available to teach some yogic / mindfulness meditation methods, since I am also a yoga and meditation teacher.

As mentioned afore, I seek to teach you how to think. This means that you become independent in the face of a new evaluation situation and different problems, since no one will take the test or exam for you.
For students with more difficulties, I prepare worksheets with a specific order to make the student know how to look up/investigate the related theory, master it, and then know how to apply it in a problem through calculations, in a progressive way. We solve homework with time and step by step, when I realise that you have not really understood it in class. I ask you to do similar ones afterwards, giving clues and tips so that you learn on your how what are the questions you have to ask yourself and take each step, so that you can dominate it on your own. Just telling you the homework answers will not make you progress and have good results, so my work would be null.
