About Sagar

I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S. degree in Biology, with double minors in Mathematics and Chemistry (pre-medicine track). I have been tutoring for math and science subjects for middle school and college students for more than 4 years now. I am very passionate about teaching and learning! I really enjoy the process of learning and gaining new perspectives on how knowledge is connected and can be used to make positive changes in our world! My goal is to create a positive learning environment with active communication, and really enjoy the learning process along with you! I am here to help you with more than 100% of my effort and ability, and it is my priority to be there to help you at anytime. I am really patient and understanding with all my students, and my favorite part about teaching is when my students feel happy after understanding the new knowledge they have acquired! :D

About the lesson

Hi, it is nice to meet you! My name is Sagar and I am really excited to begin working with you! I really love teaching and learning about biology and chemistry, and math, with my favorite subjects being biochemistry, calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, analytical chemistry, and anatomy and physiology. :D TYPICAL LESSON PLAN: (1) The way that I structure my lessons is by starting off with a review of the particular concept or topic, where we go over it in depth so that you feel confident with the material. I place emphasis on making sure that you re-explain the concepts that we go over in a way that you feel comfortable and enjoy the learning process! (2) We then go over several problems related to that problem, where we start off by going over more fundamental problems and then move on to more challenging problems so that you are comfortable with tackling any questions related to that concept. (3) We then finish off with a summary of everything we went over on a single board, where I ask you to re-explain those concepts in your own words and we work together to write all the important ideas on one board! :D SUBJECTS: I have been tutoring science and math related subjects for students from middle school to college-level for more than 4 years now! Here is a list for my most popular subjects, but I have tutored for other subjects as well: MATH: AP Statistics, AP Calculus AB and BC, Calculus I- III, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Advanced Calculus (Real Analysis), and Advanced Engineering Mathematics (Mathematical Modeling/Advanced Differential Equations) CHEMISTRY: Honors and AP Chemistry, General Chemistry I and II, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry I and II, and Biochemistry BIOLOGY: Honors and AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Ecology, Evolution of Vertebrate Life (including Advanced Vertebrate Anatomy), Cell Biology, Advanced Cell Biology, Biochemistry, and Human Anatomy and Physiology PHYSICS: Honors Physics, AP Physics, AP Physics C, General Physics I and II, and Calculus-Based Physics TEST PREP: AP Subjects (as listed above), ACT and SAT

Perfect! Sagar gave clear explanations for how to solve mathematical problems. He also provided tips for remembering how to solve the problems. His extra problem are the the end of the lesson to determine whether I truly understood how to solve the math problem is great!

Perfect! My son is an autistic university student with ADHD. Sagar is extremely patient with him and has helped him grasp several concepts that advance his abilities in Calculus 2. My son was super stressed 2 days ago, but his sessions with Sagar have calmed his fears about the start of the new semester. I look forward to booking more sessions for my son as needed.

We went over each of the integral rules on constants, power rule, exponential functions, logarithmic, trig functions and inverse trig functions, and you did an awesome job of remembering these rules. We then went over many examples and reviewed over 2 examples of u-substitution, which you also did a great job of understanding and remembering the steps! We then finished off with summarizing everything we went over, and you did perfect with re-explaining each concept!
