About Ethan
A recent college graduate studying for my MCAT, I understand the pressure and expectations of academia that can snowball over time, where things pile up and are procrastinated, and life happens. As a tutor, I seek to show how imprinting good learning habits early on sets the foundation for later, more advanced learning. More specifically, making learning and studying more than just some boring, self-isolating activity; rather, a chance to apply new learning techniques in fun and creative ways with reinforced feedback. As a good communicator, I ensure parents are knowledgeable about their child's performance and am myself open to feedback. I am a teacher who promises improvement seen through a lens of increased test scores!

I focus on making complex concepts simple, engaging, and relevant. My method is rooted in active learning—I don't just explain topics; I guide students to discover and apply the material themselves. I further use analogies, visuals and simplification of material into fun examples to enhance the students understanding. Utilising active recall as a source of memory retention.
For science and math subjects, I often integrate problem-solving techniques, step-by-step breakdowns, and concept mapping to build strong critical thinking skills.
My ultimate goal is to teach the student how to learn, both about the content and in general. Yet equally, to create a fun atmosphere for learning in creating association between the two in actively engaging and motivating the student.
