About Kirpa

Hi, I’m Kirpa Singh Ubhi, a trainee maths teacher with a background in Biomedical Science and a passion for helping students unlock their potential. Throughout my academic journey, I have always enjoyed breaking down complex ideas and supporting others in developing their confidence and understanding.

My motivation for teaching comes from seeing the impact that personalised support can have on a student’s progress. I have had the privilege of tutoring students who were only a few months away from their final exams with little preparation, and seeing them build confidence, improve their understanding, and achieve results beyond their own expectations has been one of the most rewarding experiences.

Alongside my teacher training, my experience in science, healthcare and client education has strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, adapt explanations, and identify where individuals need support. I believe every student can improve with the right guidance, structure and encouragement, and I aim to create lessons where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their skills.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Kirpa, a trainee maths teacher offering personalised 1-to-1 tutoring designed to target individual gaps in knowledge and build confidence.

My lessons follow an I Do, We Do, You Do structure, where I model methods clearly, work through examples with students, and then support them to apply their learning independently. I also include exam-style questions and practice tasks to help students develop problem-solving skills and prepare effectively.

Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are tailored to each student’s needs, whether they are building foundations, improving exam technique, or aiming for higher grades. My teacher training and classroom experience allow me to identify misconceptions, explain concepts clearly, and adapt lessons to support each learner’s progress.

I tutor students from Key Stage 3 through GCSE level who want to improve their understanding, confidence and performance in maths.
