About Raisa
I am Raisa Lodi, a Biomedical Science student at City St George’s, University of London. I am passionate about learning scientific knowledge and sharing what I learn and discover. I have experienced being both the topper of the class and a below average student – and at the core of it I learned how to discover my full potential to succeed. Outside academia, I am interested in history, sports and languages. I can speak five languages including English, plus I am an avid reader. I believe that teaching would allow me to help my students reach their academic goals, as well as connect with them as a tutor that’s willing to support their passions.

I integrate various techniques into my teaching method. In a class which usually stretches to an hour, I begin with a presentation of the textbook and ask my students to read. Next, I explain the same concepts in detail, using analogies and real-life examples to consolidate their understanding. I ask questions to get them into thinking deeper, and address their doubts without judgement. I frequently take surprise quizzes to help my students identify their positions. This has been my approach for the Science subjects that I have taught, namely Physics, Chemistry and Biology, at the GCSE level. I have experience tutoring international students online, therefore my preferred teaching platform is online.
