About Adam
I received a Master’s in Biophysics from Cornell University in 2011, working part time as a math and physics tutor while in school. Since then I have tutored multiple times, including a two year stint as professional physics tutor at City College of San Francisco. I even worked at a nonprofit where we used upcycled materials discarded by factories to teach science and engineering concepts to K-12 students.

I am happy to tutor students at any level. Personally I can tutor mechanics, electromagnetism, waves, thermodynamics, special relativity and quantum mechanics. I begin by letting you tell me what you hope to get out of your physics class, so I have a sense of how deep into the subject matter you want to go.
I always try to figure out what YOU already understand about the topic or problem, because you usually know more than you think you do. I then try to lead you on with questions that stimulate you to make the key connections between concepts. I like to draw pictures and I may ask you to make a simple sketch, although I know not everyone is a visual learner - together we figure out what mode works best.
If you have notes or a book for your class that you’re willing to use, I encourage you to pull them out and we’ll read through them as needed so you’ll understand how to use them better.
