About Songita

I am a dedicated Indian dance performer and former Indian Gala dance captain with experience in Bollywood, Kathak, Semi-Classical, and Bhangra styles. Dance has been a major part of my life for years, shaping my discipline, leadership, and performance skills. I have trained extensively in rhythm, expression, footwork, and stage presence, and I bring that structured training into every lesson.

As an instructor, I value professionalism, patience, and clear communication. I create a positive and focused learning environment where students feel supported while being challenged to grow. My goal is not only to teach choreography, but to help students develop confidence, cultural appreciation, and a strong foundation in technique.

About the lesson

My dance lessons focus on building strong technique, confidence, and stage presence through Bollywood, Semi-Classical, Bhangra, and Kathak styles. As a former Indian Gala dance captain and experienced performer, I combine structured choreography with expressive storytelling, footwork precision, and rhythm training so students understand both the technique and emotion behind every movement.

A typical lesson includes warm-ups, basic technique drills (including Kathak tatkaar and spins when applicable), musicality training, choreography breakdown, and performance practice. I adapt each class to the student’s level, whether beginner or intermediate, and create a supportive environment that encourages discipline, cultural appreciation, and self-expression. My goal is to help every student feel confident performing and connected to the art form.
