About Owami
Hi! I'm Owami, a Stellenbosch University student with a strong academic background in English, research and writing. I enjoy helping learners improve their reading comprehension, essay writing, grammar and ability to express themselves clearly and confidently.
Having worked with children from diverse backgrounds, I've gained valuable experience explaining concepts in simple, engaging ways and adapting my approach to different learning needs. These experiences have taught me the importance of patience, encouragement and creating an environment where learners feel comfortable participating.
I'm particularly passionate about helping students who struggle to put their thoughts into words, whether they're trying to understand a difficult passage, structure an essay or improve their vocabulary. I believe that becoming proficient in English isn't simply about knowing the rules of the language, but about developing the confidence to use it effectively.
My lessons are interactive, personalised and focused on helping students make noticeable progress. I aim to identify each learner's strengths, understand the areas where they need additional support and develop practical strategies to help them improve.
Above all, I want my students to leave each lesson feeling more capable, motivated and confident than when they arrived. I believe that with the right guidance and encouragement, every learner has the potential to succeed.
