About Noah

A native of The Welsh Valleys, born and raised here. Due to the fact that I was not born into a family background that was creatively involved in the field of music, I began my love affair with music quite late. I began practicing at the age of sixteen and began learning about 'the voice' in its given state. The experience of performing on the streets as a busker, and learning how to channel performance, is in itself a magical experience.

The most important thing to understand is that while I dedicate myself to my practice, I want them to be fun and I always motivate that this is a relaxed environment where you can learn to be who you really are not to mention who I've learned to be as well.

I actually came from a disability school background which left me convinced that I would not succeed as a teacher. A teacher's job is not just to teach someone, but also to impart knowledge. This is something I am confident I can do with effort, listening, and approaching with an open mind. It is my desire to give back to you what those teachers were not able to give me, which was the will to succeed. Your ability to go as far as you desire is entirely within your control

Completed level 2 and 3 of RSL (RockSchool), which involved a study of history, composition, and composing, frequency, and mixing along with sound desk use. It introduces the various areas you may be interested in specialszing in - for instance, my specialty is performance, which I am progressively learning and constantly learning.

I am currently enrolled at BiMM University, having completed level 4 (first year), which consists of classes in history, vocal lessons, as well as lessons in vocal techniques and styles. Taking into consideration the importance of knowing your voice and how unique it is. The lectures also discussed music theory. Additionally, tone control was taught and discussed over the course of the first year.

I am currently studying at the level of 6 (year 3 - final year), with teaching being the primary focus in my studies, along with academic work. The desire to now teach in order to help others realize who they are as individuals.

The color of a song should reflect the unique voice of each individual, to bring his or her unique voice to the surface, to nature, and also to comprehend. It should be considered in context. This is something that I believe is important to grasp out and learn what it takes to achieve clarity.

The Voice provides a wide range of styles and technical techniques to choose from. There is nothing wrong with sounding like an artist, but what type of artist do you wish to be? As a musician, I consider lessons to be more than just lessons in my opinion. They are there for a reason, which is to be fun, and also to create a happy environment in which we are free to be ourselves.

  • 1) When did you first develop a passion for music and your favourite instrument?

When I was 15, I discovered my love for music and became deeply interested in the voice, It quickly became my favourite instrument, and I spent countless hours practising and learning new songs. I auditioned for X Factor at 17, I never made it through but to gain experience and learn from others, which helped me develop my vocal skills. I also was one stage away from claiming a spot on (The Voice UK - selected from 15 and a half thousand to 250 with no lessons at all during that period of my life, in 2017) had private voice lessons during that time to refine my technique and expand my range with a vocal coach, before singing in front of the producers. Practising daily, I record myself singing to identify areas of improvement and work on them diligently, to always see how to flavour my song choices.
  • 2) Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

I find myself constantly drawn to "Time Travel Kool Aid" by Half an Orange. The unique blend of electronic and indie elements keeps me captivated, and its catchy melody never fails to put me in a good mood. The clever lyrics and upbeat tempo resonate with my personal experiences and emotions, making each listen feel personal and meaningful. Additionally, the song's intricate production and layered harmonies provide something new to discover every time, keeping it endlessly engaging.
  • 3) Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

One of the most challenging yet exciting courses I could offer is "The Art of Musical Storytelling." In this course, students would learn how to convey emotions and narratives through their music by exploring various techniques such as dynamic expression, lyrical analysis, and instrumental arrangement. By incorporating interactive workshops and collaborative projects, students would engage deeply with the material, fostering creativity and a personal connection to their musical journey. Genre fusion plays a significant role in modern music by breaking traditional boundaries and creating innovative soundscapes. Artists frequently blend elements from different genres to produce unique and captivating music that appeals to a broader audience. This approach not only enriches the musical landscape but also encourages collaboration and cultural exchange, leading to the evolution of new genres and the reinvigoration of existing ones.

Genre fusion allows artists to reach diverse audiences by combining familiar elements from various musical styles, making their work accessible to more listeners. It fosters creativity and innovation, as musicians experiment with new sounds and techniques, pushing the boundaries of conventional music. Additionally, genre fusion promotes inclusivity and cultural appreciation, as it often brings together influences from different cultures and backgrounds, enriching the global music scene.

  • 6) Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

Adele - Adele's influence in the music industry is profound, as she has captivated audiences worldwide with her powerful voice and emotive songwriting. Her ability to convey raw emotion through her lyrics has set a new standard for contemporary music, inspiring countless artists to embrace vulnerability in their own work. Meeting her would be a dream come true, as her music has not only shaped my personal taste but also influenced my approach to storytelling and emotional expression in my own musical journey. Meeting Adele would be impactful because her music resonates deeply with listeners, offering solace and connection through shared experiences of love, heartbreak, and resilience. Her authenticity and honesty in her songwriting have encouraged many to embrace their own stories, making her presence an inspiring reminder of the power of vulnerability in art. Engaging with her would offer a unique opportunity to understand the creative process behind some of the most emotionally charged songs of our time.

Stevie Wonder - As a musical genius and an icon in the industry, Stevie Wonder's ability to blend genres and create timeless music has left an indelible mark on generations of artists and fans alike. His commitment to social justice and using his platform for positive change is incredibly inspiring. Meeting him would provide invaluable insights into how music can transcend entertainment and become a powerful tool for advocacy and unity.

Prince - Known for his eclectic musical style and flamboyant stage presence, Prince revolutionized the music industry with his genre-defying sound that blended rock, funk, pop, and R&B. One notable collaboration involving Stevie Wonder is his duet with Paul McCartney on the song "Ebony and Ivory." Released in 1982, the track highlights themes of racial harmony and unity, using the metaphor of piano keys to illustrate how different races can coexist peacefully. This collaboration not only topped the charts but also became an anthem for promoting equality and understanding across cultural divides.

Authenticity in music acts as a bridge, allowing artists to connect deeply with their audiences by sharing genuine emotions and experiences. When musicians are true to themselves, their work resonates more profoundly, offering listeners a sense of comfort and understanding. This transformative power of authenticity inspires change, fosters empathy, and encourages individuals to reflect on their own lives and stories.
  • 7) Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

During my time at music school (Bimm University), I've always told myself, "Practice doesn't make perfect; practice makes permanent." This lesson from myself has taught me the importance of mindful practice and focusing on quality over quantity. It is a reminder that developing good habits early on would lead to lasting improvement in my musical journey.

With this mindset, I became more attentive to the nuances of my technique and the emotions conveyed through my music. It allowed me to break down complex pieces into manageable sections, ensuring each note was played with intention and precision. As a result, I noticed a significant improvement in my performances and a deeper connection to the music I played.

This approach proved invaluable during my busking sessions, where I had to capture the attention of passersby quickly. By applying the same mindful practice, I could deliver emotionally resonant performances that engaged my audience and made each song memorable. This connection not only enhanced my confidence but also helped me build a loyal following among those who appreciated the depth and sincerity of my music.

However, I also learned that this approach could sometimes lead to a sense of stagnation if not balanced with exploration and experimentation. By focusing too much on perfecting certain pieces, I risked becoming indifferent to new styles and techniques that could enrich my repertoire. To counter this, I began to incorporate improvisation and spontaneous play into my practice, allowing me to maintain a dynamic and evolving relationship with music.

"Remember, I work to bring who you are out, not clear away what makes another unique in their chords, until it looks like harmony"
  • 8) What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

Embracing a balance between perfection and exploration is crucial in my teaching approach as a Superprof. While it's important to strive for technical excellence, I also encourage students to experiment with different styles and techniques. This combination fosters creativity and continual growth, ensuring that their musical journey is both enriching and inspiring. Finding the right balance between structure and freedom in musical teaching is essential for nurturing a student's development. By emphasising both technical skills and creative exploration, students can cultivate a comprehensive understanding of music that goes beyond mere technicalproficiency. This balanced approach ensures that students remain engaged, motivated, and open to discovering their unique musical voice. - "I'm there to be a friend, and help bring out the best of the story you have yet to tell to others, through sound, lyrically and vocally".
