About Laura

I have over 15 years experience, initially training as an actor and 10 years ago becoming a theatre director.

Whilst I was based in Nottingham I ran a successful pre-professional drama training group for 16-19 year olds and our young people went on to go to LIPA, ROSE BRUFORD, EAST 15 and FOURTH MONKEY

I enjoy working with and developing actors. I direct, teach and mentor actors at all points in their careers. Whether a professional or a complete beginner.

I am a visiting tutor at Bath Spa Uni, Reading Rep college and Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

About the lesson

I am currently based in Salisbury and work as a freelance practitioner for Salisbury Playhouse, Corn Exchange Newbury. I have previously worked for Bristol Old Vic, Nottingham Playhouse, Derby Theatre and Leicester Curve.

My approach starts from getting to know you as an artist - making sure that your monologues choices are those that resonate with and showcase you and your voice.

I create bespoke sessions to work with the individual, develop them and meet their needs. This can include support in choosing speeches, text analysis, public speaking, and LAMDA exam prep.

Having trained as an actor, I understand what it is like being in your shoes. I have a huge respect for the craft, and have knowledge of range of approaches to fit your style. These range from Meisner to a more physical outward approach like Stella Adler.

My work includes the following:

*Acting classes at all levels
*Preparing for drama schools and other acting courses
*Script analysis: modern & classical
*Performing Shakespeare: Understanding verse & prose
*General audition technique
*Self Tape preparation/screen audition preparation
*LAMDA Exams at all levels *(Enhanced DBS checked)
*Public speaking, communication & confidence coaching in all areas.

I work either online via Zoom or in person.
