About Phil

I’m a British native English teacher with around 17 years of experience in education. I started my career as a football coach, which taught me how to make learning fun, engaging and focused on building confidence.

I then spent 10 years living and working in China, where I gained a deep understanding of Chinese culture and language. I’ve now been living in Vietnam for the past four years and really enjoy life here.

Alongside teaching English, I’m also a Muay Thai coach. When I’m not teaching or training, I love relaxing at the beach, exploring new places and, of course, baking cakes!

I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and helping students feel more confident using English in real-life situations. Whether you want to improve your conversation skills, prepare for IELTS, develop your business English or simply speak more naturally, I’m here to help.

About the lesson

I really enjoy helping people improve their English and become more confident when speaking. I’m a dedicated teacher who always prioritises my students’ learning needs and takes the time to understand what each student wants to achieve.

I tailor my lessons to your level, interests and goals. Whether you want to improve your everyday conversation, prepare for IELTS, develop your Business English or simply become more fluent, we’ll focus on the areas that are most useful for you.

I like to keep lessons relaxed, practical and interesting, with plenty of opportunities for you to speak and use English naturally. We can talk about your interests, work, travel, everyday life or anything else you enjoy.

Don’t worry about making mistakes — that’s all part of learning! My goal is to create a comfortable environment where you can relax, enjoy the lesson and build your confidence.

Most importantly, I want you to leave each lesson feeling that you’ve learned something useful and made real progress.
