About Kayla
My name is Kayla, mental health advocacy and promoting accessible therapeutic support are two things that I’m extremely passionate about. I’m keen to support learners to broaden their understanding in the field of psychology based on my academic and professional experience.
Since graduating university, I have taken on various roles both paid and voluntary within the mental health field, ranging from support work in psychiatric wards to project work in the homelessness sector. I’ve also utilised some of the interpersonal skills that I’ve gained to underpin my hobby as a freelance music journalist, with the professional skills that I’ve taken being a big contributor to my networking skills within the music industry. I want to demonstrate that when you put your mind to it, psychology can have incredibly broad applications!

As a private tutor, my aim is to empower students to excel academically and develop an earnest appreciation for the subject that they are studying through a holistic approach to tutoring.
With a background in psychology but a range of interests including music, art and writing, I endeavour to create a supportive and inclusive learning space for students, which also allows for creativity and adaptability by taking individual goals and interests into account. Whether you’re struggling with complex theories, preparing for exams, or just wanting to strengthen your understanding on the topic of psychology, I will work with you to structure a personalised learning plan and support you through your academic journey.
