About Roisin
I am a friendly and enthusiastic tutor with a strong academic background in Economics, Finance, and Mathematics. Having completed my degree in Economics and now pursuing a Master’s in Finance, I combine subject expertise with a clear and supportive teaching style that helps students gain both understanding and confidence. In my lessons (typically an hour long), I break down complex ideas into simple steps, use examples and past exam questions to build familiarity, and always adapt my approach to each student’s needs. My goal is not just to improve grades but to make these subjects engaging and manageable so students feel empowered to succeed. I am really passionate about both subjects so I hope my enthusiasm can inspire my students.

My tutoring style is centred on building a clear conceptual understanding first, and then reinforcing this through worked examples, past exam questions, and problem-solving exercises. I adapt my teaching to each student’s needs — whether they require step-by-step explanations, exam-focused preparation, or deeper exploration of topics for stronger long-term understanding. I also encourage active participation by asking students for explanations of topics or taking me through their answers.
Lessons will last approximately an hour but can be tailored depending on upcoming exams or content.
I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Finance (with a strong foundation in econometrics, statistics, and mathematics) and hold a degree in Economics. My academic background gives me both the technical expertise and the ability to explain abstract concepts in a simple and structured way. As a leaving cert student I also completed Higher Level maths and Higher Level economics and have kept all my notes and workings from this time, ready to use during my lessons.
My economics grinds will be for Leaving Cert Students at any level and can be focused on the final exam or the project or both.
My Maths grinds will be focused on Junior Cert level students, specifically focusing on algebra and statistics.
