About Joanna

I’m Joanna and I recently graduated with First Class Honours from university. When I was in year 9 I struggled with maths and was at the bottom of my class and hated the subject because of that. I then got a tutor who showed me maths in another way, and after a while it all clicked and I fell in love with the subject. I started excelling in all of my exams and came out of GCSE with a 9 in maths and a 9 in further maths. Not only do I have a passion for the subject because of this tutor, but he also taught me how to teach it in a way that’s more understandable. I then started to work at my old school as a tutor while I was doing my A levels and I helped multiple students struggling to get grade 2’s in their mocks to come out with 5’s in their final exams.

About the lesson

Hi I’m Joanna, a 21 year old mathematics graduate. I’m an enthusiastic, patient tutor and am able to explain things in a new and fun way to help young people understand the subject on a deeper level, rather than the surface schools tend to brush over quite quickly. I worked at my old secondary school as a tutor for year 11’s for a year. I also have work experience with infants and primary students. During this work experience I also worked with children with learning difficulties as well. I’m happy to do any length of lesson, but I find an hour to two hours is the most effective amount of time.
