About Jassel Joy
Hello! I’m a proud Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) graduate with a passion for teaching English and helping learners gain confidence in using the language. Trained in professional education methods, I combine solid academic preparation with a warm, patient, and encouraging teaching style.
I understand that learning a new language can feel challenging at first — that’s why I create a safe, friendly, and supportive space where you feel comfortable speaking, making mistakes, and growing at your own pace. My BSED background means I’m not just teaching English — I’m professionally trained to understand how you learn best, design clear lessons, and guide you step-by-step toward your goals.
Whether you’re starting from zero, building conversational skills, improving for school or work, or preparing for exams, I tailor every lesson to your level, interests, and needs. I believe English should be practical, enjoyable, and truly useful — not just a list of rules to memorise.

My Approach as an ESL Tutor & BSED Graduate
As a Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) graduate, my approach is grounded in proven educational theory, learner-centred design, and communicative language teaching — balanced with patience, encouragement, and practical results.
My Teaching Method & Techniques
I combine structured academic teaching (from my BSED training) with interactive, ESL-focused methods:
Communicative Language Teaching (CLT): Priority is using English to communicate, not just memorising rules. You speak and practise from day one.
Gradual Build-Up: I follow Presentation → Practice → Production — introduce the concept → guided practice → real-world use. No overwhelming leaps!
Multi-Skill Integration: Every lesson covers speaking, listening, reading, and writing + grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
Scaffolding: I support you at your level, then gradually reduce help as you gain confidence — so you learn to use English independently.
Active & Fun: Use of real-life dialogues, role-plays, pictures, stories, and everyday topics to keep lessons meaningful and engaging.
Error-Friendly Environment: I correct gently and explain why — mistakes are part of learning, not failure.
