About Jasper Anthony

Hi! I'm a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics student who believes that anyone can excel in mathematics with the right guidance. As someone who enjoys teaching and mentoring others, I find great fulfillment in seeing my students gain confidence and understand concepts they once found difficult. I value patience, clear communication, and continuous learning, and I always do my best to make every lesson productive, engaging, and tailored to each student's needs. Whether you're aiming to improve your grades, prepare for an exam, or simply strengthen your mathematical foundation, I'm here to help you achieve your goals.

About the lesson

I offer an interactive, learner-centered approach to teaching mathematics that helps students do more than simply memorize formulas—I help them truly understand the concepts behind them. I believe that success in mathematics begins with a strong foundation. Without it, learning advanced topics becomes difficult, just like trying to swim without first learning the basics.

Before every lesson, I assess my student's prior knowledge and identify any learning gaps so I can tailor my teaching to their individual needs. This allows me to explain concepts at the right pace and ensure that each lesson builds confidence as well as understanding.

During our sessions, I encourage active participation rather than passive listening. I ask thought-provoking questions, use real-life examples, and guide students to discover solutions on their own. My goal is to develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, not just help them arrive at the correct answer.

At the end of each lesson, I assess my student's understanding through discussions, guided exercises, and practice problems to reinforce what they have learned and identify areas that need further improvement.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my genuine passion for teaching mathematics. Patience is an essential quality for every tutor, especially when working with students who learn at different paces. However, I believe that patience alone is not enough. Without a genuine passion for teaching, patience can become mere tolerance. My passion motivates me to keep finding new ways to explain difficult concepts until my students understand them and gain confidence in their abilities.
