About Yana

I am a fun and friendly native Bulgarian tutor, writer and former scientist who has been living in Edinburgh, Scotland for many years now. I have over 17 years of experience tutoring students in various subjects from Maths and English to Drama and Public Speaking. I can help you learn everything you need to know about the Bulgarian language, starting from the bare basics and building up from there. I always work to find the right approach for every student and build their confidence. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

About the lesson

I tailor my approach to every student but most of the time we begin by learning the alphabet and how to read in Bulgarian so that they can use different materials and practise on their own. We also learn basic introductions. From there on our lessons are usually themed and involve topics that are relevant to the student. Sometimes we also choose a work of literature appropriate to the student's level and interests which we can read together and discuss.
