About Hugo
Hi! I am Hugo and I am currently studying Business Administration and Management (in English) at the Carlos III University of Madrid. I have been learning languages since I was 3 years old and due to my dual nationality, I acquired the virtue of perfectly internalizing both Spanish and French as well as English. I graduated in 2019 from the Colegio Virgen de Europa (Boadilla Del Monte) obtaining my International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma. I have been teaching primary and secondary school students for 3 years and after spending this time I have been able to see the improvement and evolution of my students in an obvious way. From 14 to 17 years old, I spent the summer months with an American family in the city of Los Angeles, California. During my stays, I was able to perfect my English thanks to the intensive classes I received at a prestigious university in the city. I have participated in numerous volunteers and that has made me a much more supportive and empathetic person, qualities that I undoubtedly try to instill in my students. I am available every day of the week (except Monday and Tuesday) from 16:30 to 19:00 (even more flexible hours on weekends). I have a car and I would be delighted to be able to teach my classes at your homes (with all the necessary health precautions due to the COVID-19 pandemic) as well as online if you prefer.

My teaching methodology varies as it adapts to each student and their needs, objectives, level, etc. In general, the day before each class I carefully prepare the important points of the lesson, although I am always open to teaching new topics or nuances that emerge throughout the session. I try to make the class useful and serious but not boring. Thanks to my experience in the International Baccalaureate as well as abroad, I understood that learning goes much further than memorizing verbs and grammar rules; learning means inquiring, reading, speaking, exposing ideas ... I think that is the quality that can differentiate me from other teachers. My students of course learn verbs but they learn them in a way that they know and understand. In my sessions, I place great emphasis on dedicating at least 25 minutes to speaking and vocabulary because in my opinion they are essential when starting or perfecting English.
