About Fahim
I am a graduate business management specialist with a strong foundation in business principles and practices. Over the past three years, I have honed my teaching skills through both online and face-to-face tutoring, primarily with Sherpa Tutoring. My experience includes guiding students in various aspects of business management and job application preparation, helping them achieve their academic and professional goals.
In addition to my teaching experience, I bring a solid background in customer service. This has equipped me with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing me to connect with students effectively and understand their unique needs.
My passion for teaching stems from my desire to empower others with knowledge and skills that can transform their lives. I find great joy in witnessing my students’ progress and success, knowing that I have played a part in their journey. When I plan my lessons for students, I start with an initial consultation to understand their background, career goals, and specific needs. I then evaluate their current resume, cover letter, and interview skills to identify strengths and areas for improvement. Next, I establish clear, measurable objectives, such as creating a professional resume, writing effective cover letters, or mastering interview techniques, and tailor these objectives to align with their career aspirations and the industries they are targeting. I create a detailed lesson plan for each session, outlining the topics to cover, materials needed, and planned activities, ensuring a balanced approach with a mix of theory and practical exercises.
To support the lessons, I prepare necessary resources such as resume templates, cover letter samples, job application checklists, and interview question banks, and utilize online tools and platforms for resume building, job search, and virtual mock interviews. I employ interactive teaching methods, including role-playing, group discussions, and one-on-one coaching, to engage the student and provide constructive feedback on assignments and practice exercises to facilitate continuous improvement.
I assign tasks that mimic real-world job application processes, like applying for actual job postings or attending mock interviews, and help the student develop a comprehensive job application portfolio, including a polished resume, tailored cover letters, and a LinkedIn profile. Regular check-ins are scheduled to monitor progress, address challenges, and adjust lesson plans as needed, using performance metrics to track improvements and ensure learning objectives are met. Each session concludes with a recap of key points, ensuring the student understands the material covered, and I encourage the student to reflect on their learning experiences and identify areas for further development. This structured approach allows me to provide comprehensive support to my students, enhancing their job application skills and increasing their chances of securing desired positions.
