Cristiana tutored me in Ancient Greek during my first year at uni. I started classics with a foundation in Latin but no knowledge of Greek. Cristiana assisted me throughout the year in my language learning. She was very patient and responsive to my needs, and her teaching was very flexible. Thanks to her teaching I stopped seeing learning Ancient Greek as a hopeless task and got increasingly confident in both understanding and translation.

Cristiana helped me prepare for my Sociology A level exams. She started tutoring me when I was less than two months away from exams. I had changed teachers towards the end of the year and I was struggling both in class and when studying at home. I was very nervous but Cristiana was really good at reassuring me and giving me the confidence that we could turn things around. We met twice a week and would go over one topic from each of my papers each time. During the lesson Cristiana was always entusiastic and engaging, breaking down each concept for me, and summarising it after we had gone through. She always checked that I understood and encouraged me to ask questions. Cristiana always provided really good notes after each lesson, which explained concepts very clearly and highlighted links between concepts.

Cristiana helped me prepare for my Cambridge interview and IB exam both this year. She tutored me in Classical Studies, History, and Philosophy and helped me prepare for my admission interview at Clare College to read Classics (now conditional offer). I could have not wished for a better tutor - she is dedicated, passionate and incredibly knowledgeable but is also able to break down complex concepts into very straightforward, easy-to-digest explanations. What I valued most was her ability to create unusual connections between subjects which threw a different light onto a question and made for some really interesting discussion and insight. At the same time, she was also very systematic about how I should learn the core facts for each of my papers. Her double ability to combine solid knowledge with a push towards critical reflection was key to my interview and successive offer of a place at Cambridge.
