Ryan is an incredible chemist, I regularly find myself whenever my course subject overlaps with his asking him an ungodly amount of questions, to which he can explain even the most complex concepts seem manageable and help me to understand them. Most recently, this was in organic solar cells and the chemistry behind them, bridging both solid state physics and organic chemistry. He was particularly helpful in explaining the importance of excitons in this process, which is not typical of normal solar cells. (He also came third in his year in chemistry at cambridge)
