About Andre
Hi there!
My name is André and I'm a recently graduated CELTA teacher (Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
I like to build a strong rapport with learners, to best understand their needs, interests, strengths and areas for improvement.
Grammar doesn't need to be boring - we'll work together, breaking down meaning, form and pronunciation, with practical and tangible goals, in order to improve your confidence and fluency.
I have a reflective approach to learning and teaching, where students' talking time is maximised, with tasks that are productive and relevant to learners.
I enjoy integrating British culture materials, as well as different English speaking topics, from history to the arts, the media to geography, and any topics of your interest.
I like to create a chilled atmosphere, with interactive activities, and a touch of humour, to make the classroom a fun, safe and organic place to express yourself.
I'm Portuguese and I've been living in London for 7 years. I gained an A-level in English with an A* grade, and I have a bachelor's degree in humanities. I have also completed a bachelor's degree in animal behaviour in the UK, and I am currently studying for a research master's.
