About Ash

Alongside ensuring that students can achieve to their full potential in school, it is my goal as a tutor to ensure that my students have a good level of maths to take forward with them in life. Studying at Cambridge has shown me that a vast array of subjects have at least some dependency on maths. From architecture to medicine, universities love their students to have a good mathematical baseline. But it is also essential for day to day tasks; budgeting and understanding real world events. Studying economics has shown me the role that mathematics plays in the real world. More than any other subject, skills in maths are applicable to a wide array of academic and non-academic endeavours, and it is my role as a tutor to equip my students with these skills.

About the lesson

My lessons are for KS2-3 pupils, 7+ and 11+ preparation, GCSE maths and further maths, A level maths, or Maths for university entrance exams. I achieved a grade 9 in GCSE Maths, and A*s in A level Maths and Further Maths. I have past experience having tutored for GCSE Maths, and for the Cambridge entrance exam and interviews. I will run hour long sessions, each targeting an area of maths that the student would like additional support in. I will base the lessons off of the specification for the relevant course. Each will consist of questions that I will set, teaching content, and the opportunity to ask questions about the material covered in that lesson or any previous ones. Lessons are designed to supplement school work, stretching the students. I can prepare and mark homework upon request.
