About Dan
I'm very passionate about my subjects; these are the skills we can use to change the world! I specialise in biology, but am also very proficient in maths and also chemistry. Biology is where tutoring is the most effective - the logic of how biology works is more subjective and discussion is therefore more valuable. I decided to study at Cambridge because that's where I can put my knowledge and skills to good use. The laboratories are fantastic and we are trained to think about our subjects in a broad, logical system rather than just memorising facts. We learn how to think, not just how to memorise words.

What is the goal of a lesson? Personally, I believe that the most effective lessons push you to train your logic and think differently. Cambridge's supervision system has given me experience in receiving this: weekly small group lessons with experts in the field, with discussion that challenges and changes how you approach problems. In practice, this will mean I will get you to make links between concepts ("applying your knowledge"). I've given tutoring for over a year in biology IGCSE - loved it and I take responsibility in how well you do. I would prefer to do A level, and especially competition/interview prep, since these are where my skills shine best (I think I got into Cambridge only because my interview was so good lol) If your goal is to 'just get through the content' (e.g. revising for a test coming up soon), that's completely fine too! I will still push your understanding but will focus more on barging through topics.
