About Eric

With a degree in Creative Writing and a strong focus on fiction, poetry, and brainstorming, I bring both passion and expertise to every tutoring session. My journey as a writer and educator has equipped me with a deep understanding of the creative process and the techniques needed to bring ideas to life. I have dedicated myself to not only mastering the craft of writing but also to sharing that knowledge with others in a way that is accessible, encouraging, and tailored to individual needs.

I pride myself on maintaining a professional and supportive learning environment where students can feel confident in exploring their creativity. My approach is rooted in patience, clear communication, and a genuine commitment to helping each student reach their full potential. Whether you’re just beginning your writing journey or looking to refine your skills, I’m here to guide you with proven methods and personalized feedback.

Your growth as a writer is my priority, and I’m dedicated to helping you achieve your goals. Trust in my experience, and let’s work together to unlock your creative potential.

About the lesson

As a Creative Writing tutor, my approach is centered on nurturing your unique voice and helping you discover the full potential of your imagination. I believe that writing is both an art and a craft, and my goal is to guide you in mastering both. Here’s what you can expect from my lessons:

Teaching Method and Techniques
I use a student-centered approach, tailoring each session to your specific needs and goals. We’ll dive into the essentials of fiction and poetry, from narrative structure and character development to imagery and rhythm. Through a mix of creative exercises, guided writing prompts, and constructive feedback, I’ll help you strengthen your writing skills while encouraging you to take creative risks.

A Typical Lesson Plan
Each lesson begins with a brief discussion of your recent work or ideas. We’ll explore any challenges you’re facing and set clear objectives for the session. The bulk of the lesson is dedicated to hands-on writing activities and discussions, where you’ll practice new techniques and refine your work. We’ll end with a review and plan for your next steps, ensuring you leave each session with practical tools to continue your progress.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor
What sets me apart is my commitment to fostering a supportive and collaborative environment. I’m not just here to teach you the rules of writing—I’m here to help you break them in ways that serve your creative vision. My background in fiction and poetry, combined with a passion for brainstorming and idea generation, allows me to offer a well-rounded perspective that can help you unlock new possibilities in your writing.

Who the Lessons Are For
These lessons are ideal for aspiring writers at all levels, whether you're a high school student, a college undergrad, or someone simply looking to improve your creative writing skills. Whether you’re working on a novel, poetry collection, or just want to explore new ideas, I’m here to help you achieve your creative goals.
