About Bridgett

Hi, I’m Bridgett! I’m a former elementary school teacher who truly loves working with children and helping them grow both academically and confidently. With my background in teaching, I understand how young learners think, learn, and sometimes struggle, and I know how important it is for them to feel safe, encouraged, and supported. My teaching style is patient, positive, and engaging. I aim to create a friendly learning environment where kids feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating progress. I believe learning should feel approachable and enjoyable, not stressful, and I work hard to meet each child where they are. I take professionalism seriously while keeping lessons warm and fun. Each session is thoughtfully prepared and tailored to your child’s needs, learning style, and goals. I focus on building strong foundations, boosting confidence, and helping students feel proud of what they’re learning. Parents can expect a reliable, caring, and communicative tutor who genuinely enjoys working with children. My goal is for every student to leave our lessons feeling more confident, capable, and excited to learn.

About the lesson

My approach as a tutor is supportive, practical, and learner-centered. As someone who began my career as a teacher, I understand that confidence and clarity are just as important as content. I focus on helping students truly understand what they’re learning, not just memorize information.

My Teaching Method & Techniques

I use a personalized, step-by-step teaching approach that adapts to each learner’s pace and learning style. Lessons are interactive and conversational, encouraging questions and discussion. I break down complex concepts into simple, manageable pieces and use real-world examples to make learning meaningful and relatable. I also check for understanding throughout each session to ensure students feel confident before moving forward.

A Typical Lesson Plan

Each lesson begins with a quick check-in to identify goals, challenges, or questions.
We then:

Review previous material or assignments

Introduce new concepts in a clear, structured way

Practice together using guided examples or activities

Apply skills independently with support and feedback

End with a short recap and next steps for continued progress

Lessons are flexible and can be adjusted based on the student’s needs, school curriculum, or learning goals.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor

What sets me apart is my patience, encouragement, and ability to create a safe learning environment. I prioritize building trust so students feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. My background as an educator allows me to explain concepts in multiple ways until they truly click. I aim to empower learners, helping them build both academic skills and self-confidence.

Who My Lessons Are For

My lessons are ideal for:

Elementary and middle school students

High school students needing extra support or skill reinforcement

Learners who benefit from one-on-one guidance

Students who feel overwhelmed, behind, or lacking confidence

I support learners at varying levels and adapt lessons to individual academic goals, learning styles, and school requirements.
