About KRISHNA RAJ
I'm Krishna Raj Kumar, a musician and composer based in Kerala. Alongside my work in film and devotional music — including running DD Divine Melodies, my own devotional music project — I've been teaching Carnatic vocals for years, one student at a time. Music has been central to my life since childhood, and teaching lets me pass on that same foundation to others, especially beginners and young children just starting their musical journey. I believe learning should feel encouraging rather than intimidating, and I bring the same care I put into composing into every class I teach.

I teach Carnatic vocal music one-on-one, online, adapting each class to the student's pace rather than following a fixed batch curriculum. My approach starts with strong fundamentals — swaras, gamakas, and voice culture — before moving into traditional compositions. I especially enjoy teaching complete beginners and children, keeping lessons structured but patient and encouraging, so learning feels natural rather than pressured. Classes typically include a warm-up, revision of previous material, new concepts, and guided practice, with flexible scheduling to suit different time zones.
