I carry a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, have many years of performance, recording and teaching experience, I play & teach over 10 instruments and voice and more! 

I am an adult student. I met Heidi in 2014, when I started composing music earnestly. We have been working together since that time, so 11 years. I'd gone as far as I could without a teacher. Heidi strives to make sure that she doesn't impose her superior knowledge on my compositions, always acknowledging that the music must sound good to me. With that she provides knowledge, suggestions, and ideas that have helped me compose several pieces including a fantasia, a waltz, a piano quartet and a tone poem. These would not have happened without Heidi working with me over the years. Highly recommended.

Heidi is a fun and enthusiastic teacher who does a great job meeting her students where they are at, while coaxing then to keep moving forward with their skills. She has been teaching guitar to our seven year old for the last 8 month, and recently started working with our 4 year old to see if she's ready. She is very knowledgeable and I can see she has a great love for teaching music. We are very fortunate to have found her.

Heidi has been my private music teacher for more years than I can count on my fingers (14 years). Through all my phases, (elementary - university) she has supported me so much. I play the flute, and when I was first learning it took a while, but Heidi was kind and patient and let me take my time in learning. Heidi is kind and thoughtful, an attentive listener, and cares lots for the musical community. Her taste in music is phenomenal, and she cares deeply about collaboration and listening to what her students have to say. I have never given up because of Heidi, she's the best teacher I've ever had. Highly recommend! 10/10!

Someone in my family has been taking some music lesson from Heidi since 2012. She's helped all three of my kids get better and progress as musicians. All three still play or sing regularly and all take joy in it. I truly believe that the support, knowledge, and encouragement Heidi gave them over the years is a bit part of them.

I'm not going to dwell on the fact that she was able to teach one kid piano (he's a very decent player now), one kid flute, help the third when she wanted to develop her singing voice, and now she and my husband play electric guitar during his lesson. She's truly multitalented.

The things that stand out to me, as the parent of students, is how well she balances patience with expectation. She was patient on the weeks when they didn't want to -or didn't bother to- practice, but her expectation that they would, and her encouragement meant that they did.

True educators, in my opinion, are wonderful people who can guide a student through their learning to be their best. I feel that Heidi is one of those educators and this is why I'm happy to recommend her.

Heidi has been my music teacher for a few years now, and I can't express how grateful I am for her guidance. I was initially unsure if I could ever find my inner voice, but she truly believed in me and helped me uncover it.
