About Henry
I am a trained actor, and I was working in New York City before the pandemic shut down the theaters. I since got my CELTA certification through Cambridge and am interested in helping you develop your English language skills. I taught acting at Pennsylvania State University, and English teaching was part of my curriculum when getting my CELTA, so I am very prepared to work with students on their language.

I use a learner-centered approach to teaching that focuses on meaning as the most important function of language: if you can't be understood, it doesn't matter if you got the grammar correct. I will use Cambridge texts or work with students on their conversational ability, depending on the need of the student. Though learner-centered approaches give a lot of room to the learner, I believe in bringing in structure to the lesson, setting achievable goals with my students before tutoring begins.
