About James Paul
I graduated from the University of Leeds in Business Law and got my CELTA ESL teaching certificate in 2012. I have been teaching English, mainly to primary and secondary students, in a variety of settings since 2003. Most of my teaching experience was gained in Taiwan, and I have taught (and continue to teach) online for two years. I can work with any materials and also create my own. My experience has been mostly as a grammar teacher, but I have also taught reading comprehension, writing, listening, and speaking. I have a lot of experience with students from Asia, especially those from Taiwan, the education system of which I have a wealth of experience with.

I am 48 years old and from the UK. I can teach in both US and British accents. My lessons are based on student needs, and I am well-versed in English grammar, especially at elementary school level. Lesson structure depends on the skill area being taught. As an example, a grammar lesson would begin by showing multiple examples of a particular grammatical rule, eliciting from the student what the examples have in common, reinforcing with further examples, explaining meaning and how parts of a given sentence relate to one another, giving practice in question and sentence building, and finally giving a quiz to test knowledge.

James is an outstanding teacher, and we were fortunate to have him teaching our daughters for two years (2019-2021).
James put together an excellent course works for the kids. His classes significantly improved their English levels and helped them to move to an international school in Taiwan.
I was impressed with James's ability to quickly and efficiently adapt to online classes at the onset of COVID lockdown. He used interactive multimedia, which kept the kids fully engaged during the online classes.Mr. James Paul is an amazing teacher. He gives excellent lessons on SAT tests and develop my writing skills. He had given me lots of comprehensive practice with question strategy and advancing my performance. He is really nice and patient. I am very pleased and happy with his class! I would highly recommend him to become your tutor!
