About Sophie

Hi, I’m Sophie, a CELTA-qualified English teacher with experience teaching international students from a range of different backgrounds and English levels.

I believe learning English should feel encouraging and practical, rather than intimidating. My lessons are adapted to each student’s goals, interests and current level, whether you want to become more confident speaking, improve your grammar and vocabulary, work on pronunciation, or simply feel more comfortable using English in everyday situations.

I have experience teaching students at different levels and creating lessons that are engaging, supportive and relevant to real-life communication. I also understand the challenges that can come with learning in a language that is not your first, so I create a relaxed environment where you can ask questions, make mistakes and build your confidence at your own pace.

Whether you are preparing to study or work in an English-speaking environment, travelling, or simply want to improve your English for yourself, I would be happy to help you work towards your goals.

About the lesson

My qualifications and experience

I am a CELTA-qualified English teacher with experience teaching English to international students at different levels, including beginner and intermediate learners. Alongside teaching, I have worked in student experience and support roles, giving me extensive experience working with people from different cultural and educational backgrounds.

I have experience planning engaging lessons, supporting students with their confidence and adapting my teaching to different learning needs. I understand that learning a language can sometimes feel daunting, so I aim to create a relaxed environment where you can develop your skills without feeling embarrassed about making mistakes.

Who my lessons are for

My lessons are suitable for international students and adults who want to improve their English, whether you are starting from the beginning or already have a good level and want to become more confident.

I can help with general English, conversational English, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, speaking confidence, reading, writing and listening. Lessons can also be tailored around specific goals, such as preparing for life in an English-speaking country, communicating at work or simply feeling more comfortable speaking English in everyday situations.
