About Bogdan
Hi, I’m Bogdan, a native British English coach from Northampton, in the heart of England and I'm CELTA-qualified through the University of Cambridge.
These days I live in Egypt with my wife, where I teach at a local British school in New Minya City. I'm DBS checked (official UK clearance for working with learners), and over the years I've taught adults, teenagers, and children from around age 9 up.
A bit more about me
I did my CELTA at Bell Cambridge, one of the top centres in the world for training English teachers, and I hold a Level 5 TEFL Diploma with Distinction and British Council certification. I've taught at Bell and EF in Cambridge during their summer programmes, working with teenagers from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Libya, Spain, France, South Korea, and China.
Before teaching, I spent several years as a professional interpreter, doing over 500 face-to-face sessions in legal, medical, and civic settings across the UK. That's where I really sharpened my listening, precision, and ability to stay calm under pressure, and it's honestly where my interest in teaching started.
Outside of work, I love travelling and getting to know new places and cultures. I travelled extensively across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, and I bring that global perspective into our lessons.

I spent a decade in the private sector and working as a professional interpreter before I became a teacher
-> and that's really shaped how I coach now. It makes all the difference to my students.
I like blending premium materials and modern tech with real UK professional experience, so lessons focus on English you'll actually use day-to-day, while travelling or at work, not just textbook phrases.
Think of BBC articles, Nat Geo authentic content, or Business English modules on how to negotiate your salary effectively and the language scaffolding you need. All covered.

How lessons work
I keep things structured but flexible, built around what suits you. That could be using a Cambridge-licensed coursebook (I use Empower 2nd Ed. with the full digital suite) for a clear long-term path, or a Business English programme geared to your needs, or just conversation-led lessons on topics you actually care about.
Either way, you'll always know what we're working on and why.
Why my lessons are different
I focus a lot on British pronunciation, connected speech, and rhythm, since that's usually what makes the biggest difference to how confident you sound. I've even built my own interactive phonemic chart, which I share with students for free. Expect honest feedback, plenty of speaking practice, and English that's genuinely useful.
Important fit note
My lessons are generally best suited to learners who already have a basic foundation in English and want to advance to the next CEFR level or refine how they communicate in real-world situations. If you prefer only casual conversation with no structure, or you are a complete beginner, I may not be the right fit.
Your first lesson with me
In our first lesson, I'll get a feel for your level, find out what you're aiming for to suggest the best way forward. If you'd like something more formal, I can also arrange a one-hour CEFR-compatible test for you that'll also issue an official certificate in your name
And yes, you'll do a lot of speaking in my lessons
