About Yuna

I'm from Guangzhou, China, have been teaching since 2015 and passionate about it. I have been working in early education and social skills training for adults. And so, I gained experience of teaching students of all ages. Currently, I'm teaching Mandarin and sharing the Chinese culture in the UK. I had trained in teaching language to children before 6-year-old in music and art, and Montessori methods. Got Mandarin teaching certificate and also a master's degree in Global Citizenship Education.

About the lesson

I provide tailored Chinese lessons for students of all ages and all levels. No matter the lessons for exams (HSK/YCT), business, useful basic sentences, or for your children, I can find the right materials to make lessons fit for your needs. In order to do that, I will take my time to understand your learning style, level of Chinese, aims and interests in our first lesson. I'd balance time to practise pronunciation, reading, speaking and culture in a lesson. I'd arrange some review lessons based on how students learn. Some students would only like to practise speaking, That's totally fine too. For young ones, I combine music, art to teach them in playful ways. I was trained in Montessori ways of teaching as well. So, I sometimes used Montessori methods to teach Reading in Mandarin. For Adults, it's mostly based on HSK teaching materials and culture sharing. I'm a patient, organised, thoughtful and encouraging teacher. I can switch my teaching style based on different students' needs. For example, I would be energetic with children, fun with teenagers, and calm with older students. I've had nine years experience in teaching, as well as being a trainer and manager in running my own education institutes in China. In addition, I love Chinese culture such as Chinese tea, Chinese etiquette, foods and sightseeing in different areas etc. I'm happy to fit any of them into our Chinese lessons if you are into Chinese culture. Perfect! Yuna is an excellent teacher. I really enjoy how she mixes learning new words, pronunciation, tones and some traditions and culture. 60 minutes fly by and I don't feel overloaded and overwhelmed.
