About Shayla
I specialize in American English for adults. I use customized lesson plans to advance my students' speaking ability.
If you ever get nervous when you want to speak English, don't worry I understand. I'm also a student - I have been learning Spanish for 4 years and have a B2 level. I know what it's like to know what you want to say, but it doesn't come out in time or your brain freezes. I can give you the confidence to be more confident and fluent in your speech.
I use videos, grammar point charts, and role-play exercises to keep my classes engaging and productive.

Hi, my name is Shayla! I want to welcome you to being my student. I would love to help you reach your English goals with my lessons. I am ESL-certified and I teach beginner to advanced level learners.
In addition to having 1000+ hours of teaching experience all over the world, I have a background in Communications and project management, so exceptional speaking and clear communication with all types of people and audiences are things that I’m well-versed in.
Whether you would like to practice speaking in different social scenarios or more formal environments like work or school, we can work together to come up with a custom plan that caters to your needs but is still a good time!
I like to be creative with my teaching. Come with all of your questions about the English language - from your favorite songs or movies to other popular culture; we can cover it all.
Although we will create a plan around your goals, it is important to me that we incorporate things that you enjoy so that you are learning and improving, but also enjoying yourself.
