A few years ago, I was fortunate to have met Ms Laura when I observed her tutoring another student in math. I saw that she was patient and very understanding. The child, at that time, was having difficulty but she had no problem helping him navigate through the problem. So, I asked her if she would tutor my daughter, a college sophomore. Because of Ms Laura’s skills, my daughter passed a difficult class. Later, my son was having difficulty in AP Calculus. Ms Laura’s credentials were perfect. She was a current AP Calculus teacher, had graded AP exams, and my son loved her style of teaching. They worked problems together, improving his understanding of the material. Ms Laura also provided updates on my son’s progression and provided guidance on what to expect from his teachers. She was always “two steps ahead” of his teachers. Bottom line: If you need a math teacher, don’t hesitate to select her. You will be glad that you did.

My name is Jeremy Taylor, I am a sophomore at William & Mary. Ms. Larsen was my math instructor during my final two years of high school. The extent to which she has mastered her content and her decades of experience in education has allowed her to become an effective teacher who has developed a considerable rapport with her current and former students, many of whom are my friends.

Math has never been a strong suit of mine. Though I was placed in the advanced track in middle school, I never shared the acuity of many of my peers, and therefore required tutoring to sustain an average of 80% or higher. My ultimate success in math, particularly in my middle and early high school years, can be attributed to the quality of my teachers as much as my inclination to seek assistance.

Ms. Larsen is unique in that she has taught long enough to understand that math is a cumulative subject. A student must be proficient in some skills in order to utilize more complicated ones. Ms. Larsen will ensure that the students she works with have a comprehensive knowledge of math, not simply enough of an understanding for them to pass their classes. She is able to facilitate a level of understanding in her students comparable to her own. Thus, it is my pleasure to recommend her as a tutor for Superprof.

A truly wonderful teacher. Not only does she understand the material at hand, she is able to understand the thought process of those she is teaching. She is able to walk you through the concepts while also being able to understand the mistakes that we make and correct us.
