About Carley

I have:
* A Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Biology and Psychology from Queen's University
* A Bachelor of Education (Junior/Intermediate, Global Perspectives) degree from University of Ottawa
* A TESOL (Teach English as a Second/Foreign/Other Language) teaching certificate

* Taught Adult ESL for 3 years
* Been teaching and tutoring for over 8 years
* Been a head teacher, creating curriculum and guiding other teachers to teach ESL

About the lesson

I have extensive experience in small group and private ESL tutoring, and the feedback from my students is that I am organized, I care about the students and I can describe well. I use lots of resources to teach something many ways.

I have taught English for many specific job types, business, post-secondary school entrance exams, so I can be very flexible to what you need.

I have taught students whose first languages are French, Thai, Portugese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, German, Creole, Arabic, Farsi, and many many more. Many students ask me to reduce their accent - I disagree with this request. Accents are beautiful, as long as you are well understood. I will make sure people can understand you and that you can understand other people. I am an expert at creating curriculum and lesson plans for your needs.

**CURRENTLY - I am fully booked for private lessons, and only have space in the small groups. If you're not sure if it's right for you, let's have a Skype call to talk about what you need. If necessary, I can recommend another teacher, too. **

About my classes:
I do this because I love to travel, and to meet people like you. When I help others to learn English, it makes me feel like I am visiting all places in the world. I am also excited for you to teach me things about your language and your home town.

I follow the most effective curriculum not offered anywhere else in Ottawa - designed based on CURRENT educational theory and proven effective results. Ask any of my former students.

The small groups really are small, and full day price (5-6 hours) includes entry to places in Ottawa, sometimes tourist attractions, where we apply the English we practice.

If you're not from Ottawa, or will leave Ottawa and want to continue, I will connect you by video to our classroom, so that you can continue learning with me.

I have proven methods, and can refer you to any of my former students (on our outside of SuperProf) to get their opinion. If you need English for any aspect of your life, I promise you results: there is no better way to learn than my immersive strategy.
